Wedding Bells in Your Future?
Just in case you didn’t know, Northwell Health grants you three days of Paid-Time-Off (PTO) when you tie the knot. Read straight from the policy:
Purpose
The purpose of this policy is to provide employees with additional time-off to celebrate one’s own marriage, without using Paid Time Off (PTO).
Scope
This policy applies to full time employees and benefits-eligible part time employees. This benefit is prorated for part-time employees.
Procedures
A. This benefit is effective upon employment.
B. In the event of marriage, employees must request a leave from their department head/designee as soon as possible.
C. Time off must be taken within a reasonable time of the marriage, and may not be split or postponed.

Can’t wait to use mine!
Thank you Northwell Health!
You are welcome! And congratulations to you and yours!
Any plans to ever offer any paid leave for new parents? Ironic that time is provided for a wedding, but no paid parental leave for moms or dads! Even three days would help 🙂
Hi Lara – Great question! Northwell offers a very generous Rewards program to our employees, and is always looking for ways to improve. As an example, Northwell offers generous Disability and Paid Time Off benefits. Many times these programs are utilized to help new parents welcome a child into their home. We are always looking at ways to enhance our benefits and your suggestion is one of the items we will consider. Thank you!
Does this also apply for a wedding vow renewal?
Nice try but no. Congratulations anyway!
